Established
and incorporated in 1963, Mental Health Association in Waukesha
County, Inc. (MHA) is an independent nonprofit organization,
federally recognized as a 501(c) (3) corporation. MHA's purpose is
to bring wellness to the community through a continuum of services
that supports self-sufficiency for individuals and families.
Services include: a 24/7 helpline; counseling center; outreach in non-traditional settings;
education; and crisis response.
MHA's primary purpose is to promote mental health for all
individuals through education, prevention, and early intervention in
order to encourage acceptance of people with mental illness, assist
with access to treatment, connection to community resources, and
identify unmet needs in service delivery. It is through
education and collaboration that MHA hopes to reduce the stigma
related to mental health disorders and bring wellness to the
community.
